Sheltered bay with step access from the road. Good views of the impressive Kingsgate Castle building (not a tourist attraction), though the concrete sea defences below it detract somewhat from the natural beauty. The cave on the opposite side of the bay once connected the beach to the Captain Digby pub, but has suffered damage from collapses and is now unsafe to enter.
No parking specifically for Kingsgate Bay, so best visited by a walk from nearby Botany Bay.
Lovely beach - the limestone arch at one end and the castle on the cliff at the other, and the lighthouse just a stone’s throw away. No parking for the beach so park at Captain Digby’s and pay for parking or better yet buy a drink and enjoy on the terrace looking out to the water. Great beach to explore at lower tides - you can go under/around the arch and round to botany bay etc but be aware of the tide times and be sure not to get cut off. Not a great beach for sunbathing or games as this weekend we were overrun by sand fleas wherever we went!
It was a walk to Kingsgate Bay from Broadstairs along the coast road, but well worth the walk, we had a lovely lunch at The Captain Digby, where dog's are very welcome, and Seagulls fly, the view is wonderful and the air is full of the sea, we walked down to the beach and then walked back to Broadstairs xx
The beach was mind blowing my kid really enjoyed it there . the view was also nice. Should recommend.
Kingsgate Bay broadstairs is a beautiful beach with a few caves . It also has a cave tunnel that goes out into the water. On top of the cliff, there is a beautiful restaurant / pub called Captain Digby that does really good food and has a kids' soft play . Out side seating over looking the beach with fantastic views.
Quite pretty, we didn't go down to the beach, it was December and the main aim was the coastal path walk. Nice views
Went there for a birthday party. Really beautiful scenery which included a castle and a couple of caves. Theres a bar down the road that allows you to park your car for a fee. The inly reason its not five stars is the seaweed...it smells especially bad when you're near it.
beautiful quiet beach with white cliffs and walking paths. We parked the car near Jose bay and walked to this beach.
